Spent $500 on custom packaging before my product was even ready
I got so excited about my small bath salt business that I ordered branded boxes and labels way too early, thinking it would motivate me to launch faster. Turns out I changed my recipe twice and shrunk the jar size, so now I have 300 useless boxes sitting in my spare room. Has anyone else bought stuff before they actually had a finished product to sell?

The 300 boxes would have just been sitting around anyway" - honestly this is backwards logic to me lol. I blew $400 on custom labels for my candle business before I even had a final wax blend locked down, and it was the best mistake I ever made. Having those boxes staring at me every day forced me to actually commit to a recipe and stop endlessly tweaking stuff that didn't matter. You can always repurpose expensive boxes as display props or sell them to another small biz on Facebook marketplace, so the sunk cost isn't as bad as you think.

$400 for labels before the wax was locked down sounds like my kind of chaos. Nothing says commitment like a pile of boxes you can't return.
