Bought a $400 CRM last January and regret every penny
I was drowning in spreadsheets so I dropped cash on a fancy customer tracker. Six months later I'm still entering data manually because the import tool broke every time. Meanwhile my buddy uses a free Trello board and says his clients never slip through. Did I just pick the wrong tool or is paid software always a trap for tiny shops like ours? Anyone else throw money at something that made life worse instead of better?

Man that stings, I feel your pain. Dropped $300 on an inventory app that promised to sync with my POS system, took two weeks of fighting with support to find out it only worked with one specific POS model. Ended up back on a Google Sheet with color coding. Paid software can be such a gamble when you're small and don't have time to test everything thoroughly.

Bro I feel you on that "only worked with one specific POS" thing, that's rough. My rule now is I always ask for a demo video or a free trial first before handing over any cash. If they won't let me test it for even a couple days, that's a HUGE red flag to me. Another thing that's saved me a ton of headaches is looking up the product on Reddit or a forum for my specific industry before I buy. And honestly, Google Sheets with some basic formulas can handle a LOT more than people give it credit for, you just gotta set it up right once and then you're golden.
