Don't waste your cash on those $40 fire starter kits, I burned through mine in one rainy weekend.

Bought a fancy 'all natural' fire starter bundle at REI for 40 bucks and it fizzed out after two damp logs on a trip up near Lake Placid, has anyone else had better luck with just using dryer lint and wax?

Not sure it's worth getting worked up over a single wet weekend. Dryer lint and wax has worked fine for me in the past but I've also had plenty of mornings where I just used a crumpled up paper bag and a little patience. Your mileage may vary depending on how damp your wood is honestly.

Four failed attempts with dryer lint last weekend tell me otherwise.
