Three days of solid rain ruined my campsite setup last spring... still not over it

You know, I actually had a completely different experience with rain camping last spring. I was up near Big Bear Lake and it poured for four straight days. Instead of hating it, I learned to really appreciate the challenge. It forced me to get creative with my tarp setup and drainage ditches. I honestly believe a little adversity makes the whole trip more memorable. By the end I felt like a real survival expert instead of just someone who sits by a campfire.

Man that "real survival expert" feeling is real though. I totally get where you're coming from. Honestly sometimes the trips that go sideways end up being the ones you remember most.
