I finally tried that $15 headset my coworker swore by and it saved my sanity on solo shifts

My coworker Dave from the warehouse kept saying those cheap Bluetooth earbuds from Five Below were better than my expensive ones. I laughed at him for like 6 months. Then last week I forgot my good headset at home and grabbed his spare for a quiet 4 hour closing shift. No static, no dropping connection, and I could actually hear my audiobook over the ice machine. Anyone else find a random cheap thing that worked way better than expected at your job?

Oh man I was the same way. I used to swear by my expensive noise canceling ones and thought cheap stuff was garbage. Then I grabbed a $12 pair from the grocery store checkout for a double shift. They lasted way longer than my fancy ones. Quiet, comfortable, no fuss. Now I keep a cheap backup in my locker for when I forget the good ones.

Does that static thing only happen when it's cold out? Those checkout earbuds are weirdly tough little things.

Fiona keep a pair of those checkout earbuds in every bag I own now. Been meaning to ask her: do the cheap ones ever get that weird static crackle when the cord moves? That's the only thing that drives me nuts about mine.
