My solar panels sat for 2 years before I actually hooked them up right
Had a chat with my cousin last weekend who lives off grid in Montana. He said I was wasting money just letting my panels sit in the shed. He walked me through the whole setup in 20 minutes, showed me how to wire them to my battery bank. I finally got them running last Tuesday and my power bill dropped by 40 bucks already. Wish I talked to him sooner instead of watching confusing YouTube videos. Anyone else have a family member who saved them a ton of hassle?

Your power bill dropped by 40 bucks already" - that part might not be totally accurate. 40 bucks is a lot for just a week, especially if you only have a small system. I mean unless you had a huge setup sitting in that shed. Most people I know with a few panels see maybe 10-15 bucks savings the first month. Might be your cousin was being optimistic or you had some big appliances running. Just saying check your bill again next month before you start planning that vacation with the savings.
