PSA: those plastic moving bins from U-Haul near Portland can turn into a nightmare in the rain

I rented 40 of them for a cross-town move last Saturday and the tops popped off when a light drizzle hit, soaking my couch cushions before I could even get them in the truck; has anyone else had them fail in wet weather or was I just unlucky?

Dude same thing happened to me last month with those exact bins. I had like 20 of them stacked and a tiny bit of rain made the lids just fly off, ended up with all my blankets and pillows completely soaked. I swear they only work if you're moving in a perfect climate lol

Man that really stinks, I feel for you. 20 bins soaking through all at once is a nightmare, especially with blankets and pillows. Mine did the same thing with just some light drizzle and the lids popped right off like they weren't even latched. I ended up having to air everything out for days and it still smelled musty.
