Spent 8 months chasing a refinance that should have taken 6 weeks
I started a cash out refinance with a big national lender back in March and they kept asking for the same documents over and over. Every week it was something new, a bank statement from 2022, a letter explaining a $400 deposit from my dad. After 8 months of back and forth I finally closed last week, and my local credit union told me they could have done it in 30 days flat. Has anyone else dealt with a lender that just dropped the ball for months on end?

Feels like everything's designed to waste your time on purpose these days.

Oh honey, my friend Sarah went through the exact same circus with one of those big online lenders. They kept asking for a copy of her marriage license from 15 years ago and then lost it twice. She finally just paid a little extra to a local bank and was done in three weeks. Did you get a good rate at least after all that waiting?

Man that Sarah story is way too familiar. It's like these companies go out of their way to make you jump through hoops just to get what you already qualified for. Did you end up sticking with the online lender or switch like she did?
