Local lawyer I hired handled my case in half the time the big firm quoted

I went with a solo practitioner over a big downtown firm for my property dispute, and he settled it in 3 months instead of the 6 they said. He actually called me back same day instead of making me talk to a paralegal. Has anyone else seen local attorneys move faster than the big guys?

Man my cousin had a totally different experience. He hired some big shiny firm for his divorce and they dragged it out for over a year just billing him for every little thing. Meanwhile his neighbor used a solo guy who got everything done in like 4 months flat. I dunno if the small guys just care more or what but it seems like they don't have that "we gotta milk this" mentality.
