Noticed a huge shift in how the Irvine Happy Hour meetups feel since they moved from that coffee shop to the bar on Culver

Used to be all serious founders pitching VCs in 2022, but now it's just people complaining about their landlords and sharing discount codes for co-working spaces, and has anyone else seen the same change happen in other local startup groups?

People complaining about their landlords and sharing discount codes" - that hit HARD. My buddy went to one of those Culver meetups last month and said someone literally pulled out a foldable chair from their backpack to demonstrate their "portable office" concept. Then they spent 20 minutes trying to get everyone to scan a QR code for their newsletter.

Haven't you noticed the vibe is actually way more relaxed and genuine now?

Hear me out though, @oliver719 kinda nailed it with that foldable chair story because I once showed up to a networking thing with a whole collapsible whiteboard in my backpack. Took me 30 minutes to realize I was the weird guy trying too hard. The good vibes now feel like we all finally admitted how ridiculous that stuff was.
