I finally figured out why my peace lily kept drooping after 8 months of struggle

Everyone online says peace lilies droop when they need water, but mine would droop even when the soil was wet. Turns out it was rootbound in a pot that was way too small (I mean, seriously small). After 8 months of watering on a strict schedule and watching it flop over every few weeks, I finally repotted it into a 10 inch terracotta pot and it hasn't drooped once since. Has anyone else dealt with a plant acting like it has one problem when it's actually something totally different?

Blamed your plant for being dramatic when it was really just packed into a closet-sized apartment that entire time. Must've felt like you were gaslighting yourself every time you gave it water and it still threw a fit. Glad you finally figured out it wasn't thirsty, just needed some breathing room.

Oh man, this is such a perfect example of how we jump to the most obvious answer without checking the whole picture! It reminds me of how I used to keep buying new phone chargers because mine would stop working, but really it was just the port full of pocket lint the whole time. We blame the plant or the phone or whatever, but sometimes the problem is something totally boring and hidden that makes all the difference. It's like how a headache might mean you need water not medicine, you know? So glad your lily is finally standing up straight, that must feel like such a win after all that guessing!
