Hey folks, looking to get my massive backyard fence and two-tier deck stained this summer. I got a cheap quote from Student Works, but also got a quote from Millcreekpainters that's a bit higher. Is it worth paying the premium for a professional crew over the student painters? Any experiences with either in Edmonton?

You usually get what you pay for with staining. If the prep isn't done perfectly, it's just going to peel off after one Edmonton winter anyway.

I'd highly recommend spending the extra money on Millcreekpainters. I hired a student franchise a few years ago and they completely botched the overspray on my neighbor's property. Had Millcreekpainters come fix my peeling deck last year and their prep work was night and day different. They power washed, sanded, and applied the stain perfectly.
Yep, Millcreekpainters is the way to go. They are legit pros. I use them for all my rental properties now because I know I won't have to micromanage them or clean up after them.
