Finally got my backyard grass to actually grow after 3 failed attempts
Used to just toss down seed and hope for the best, then wondered why it all washed away. Finally put down some straw mulch last month and it made a huge difference. Has anyone else had luck with that or found another trick that works?

Oh my friend's husband swore by straw and it worked great for him...

Oh man I feel that, I had the same issue with seed just washing away. I ended up using a light layer of straw too and it worked way better than I expected. Idk I get why @luna_clark38 says that about bugs and mold but I haven't had any problems with it so far, maybe just depends on how thick you lay it down.

straw mulch just attracts bugs and mold, honestly think that's overrated.
