After 6 months of inconsistent pour overs, I finally dialed in my grind size and the flavor difference was night and day.

I was using a medium grind for everything until I tried way finer for a light roast Ethiopian bean and got actual fruit notes for the first time, has anyone else had that 'aha' moment with a simple adjustment?

Yeah, the "fruit notes for the first time" thing really hit me. I used to think fine grinds just made bitter coffee but that light roast Ethiopian changed my mind completely.

Wait, was it a natural or washed Ethiopian that changed your mind?

Tbh @karen_hart, the fine grind thing is tricky. I wrecked a few brews before I realized I just needed to dial in my pour over technique a bit. Ethiopian light roasts totally show their fruit if you don't over-extract.
