Managed to hike to a secluded waterfall in the Oregon Cascades last weekend.

It took a few wrong turns on old logging roads, but we finally found the trailhead. The water was ice cold, but swimming under the falls felt amazing. Only saw one other couple the whole day, which was a rare treat from the busy parks.

Was it just the early time that worked, or did you do something else like go on a weekday? Trying to figure out if the timing is the whole trick or if you had another plan.

Yeah, avoiding tourists is the secret. Getting there right when it opens was our trick.
