Appreciation post: That rented skid steer made grading a slope way less painful
Had to level a big uneven section for a parking lot base last Thursday, and my usual machine was down. Rented a newer skid steer with tilt controls, and it cut the work time in half. The precision let me avoid over-digging near the property line. For those who've used different models, what features do you look for in a rental for tight spots?

Game changer for property lines? I'm stunned it makes that much of a difference.

Honestly, that tilt control you mentioned is a total game changer for not wrecking the property line. For really tight spots, I always check if the rental has a decent rear view camera. The hand controls vs. foot controls thing matters too, I find the hand ones way easier for fine movements when you're boxed in.

Tilt control is crucial for avoiding damage to property lines, especially on uneven terrain. From what I've seen, a rear view camera with a wide angle helps more than just a basic one. Hand controls do allow for finer movements, though some operators swear by foot controls for certain tasks. It really comes down to personal preference and the specific site conditions.
