Realized I was over-complicating my point cutting for years after a client in Portland showed me a picture of her 'messy' home haircut.

Remember watching my neighbor just hack away at her own bangs with kitchen scissors. It looked so free and actually really good, which made me question all my expensive shears and fancy techniques. Sometimes the simple way is just the right way.

Oh man, @taylorhunt, that hits home! I once tried to trim my own hair with regular scissors and it was a total disaster. I ended up with these weird, uneven chunks that took months to grow out. It really does make you wonder if we overthink this stuff sometimes. Your neighbor just going for it with kitchen shears is honestly kind of inspiring. Maybe the secret is just not caring too much about the result.

Yeah, that tracks. I spent a solid hour once trying to follow a "perfect layers" tutorial, ended up looking like I lost a fight with a weed whacker. Meanwhile my little cousin just grabs a chunk and snips it straight across and it always looks cool. The universe is laughing at me.
