Box dye fixes that wreck my whole schedule
I just finished a session where a client's box dye mistake needed fixing (a real headache, you know), and the color had to process for what felt like forever. It pushed me back on all my other appointments for the day. How do you handle pricing or booking these super time-consuming services? I don't want to turn people away, but I need to keep my day on track.

Do you have a set policy for color corrections that might run long, like charging by the hour after a certain point? I've heard some stylists book these as open appointments with a minimum fee, so the schedule has flexibility. It's tough because you want to help clients, but you can't let one job throw off your whole day. Maybe explaining the variable time needed upfront sets clearer expectations for both of you.

So, I was reading this blog for salon owners, and it really pushed for having a set policy on color corrections. The idea is to book them as open appointments with a minimum fee, like you said. That gives you flexibility without killing your day. Clients get it if you explain why it's needed, like the hair might need more work than expected. It stops those awful situations where you're running late and not making enough. Honestly, just laying it all out before you start is the best way to go.

Ever have a correction just eat your whole afternoon? It's so hard to balance helping them and keeping your day on track.
