A client brought in a photo from 1995 and said 'make it look like this again'

It was a picture of her with a very specific, layered bob from a salon that closed twenty years ago. I spent about an hour just talking with her about the cut, the feel she wanted, and why that time meant so much, which really helped. The final cut took nearly two hours because I was matching angles from a faded picture, but seeing her smile in the mirror made the whole afternoon. Has anyone else had a client bring in a really old reference photo that you had to work from?

Had a guy bring in a Polaroid of his dad's 70s mustache. Matching that curl was a whole project.
