Threw $400 at a fancy email automation tool and got worse open rates
Signed up for that trendy email platform everyone swears by, paid for the whole year upfront because of the 'limited time' discount. My open rates dropped 15% compared to my old free Mailchimp account I'd been using since 2019. Has anyone else had a tool backfire on them like this or did I just pick a dud?

Buddy of mine had the same thing happen. He runs a small online shop and switched to some hot new platform after seeing all the hype on YouTube. His open rates tanked so bad he switched back to his old system after two months. Turns out a lot of those fancy tools send your emails straight to the spam folder if you don't set them up just right. All that extra money and he ended up right where he started.
