My Instagram giveaway for a free coffee maker got flagged last month
I ran it to grow my small cafe's page, but the rules were too vague and Instagram said it broke their promotion rules. Has anyone else had a giveaway shut down and found a better way to do them?

Ugh that's so frustrating! Did you have the official rules posted somewhere obvious, like in the caption itself? I've heard Instagram is really strict about needing every single step and requirement spelled out clearly for the user.

Oh man, that's exactly what got my friend Sam! @corac91, he ran a giveaway last month and put "official rules in my bio link." Instagram still took it down! They said every single thing, like the end date, how to enter, and who could join, had to be in the actual post caption, not just linked. He had to redo the whole post with a giant caption full of rules. It was a huge pain.

My cousin's bakery tried a "guess the cookie count" contest last spring. They forgot to put the no-purchase-necessary line in the post itself, just on their website. Honestly, it got taken down in like two days and they had to refund a bunch of people who bought cookies to enter.
