The house at the end of my street vanished for a day, then came back.

I drove past and it was gone, but now it's back like normal. What do you think is going on?

Okay, that's properly weird. Ben's photo idea is solid, but a whole house doesn't just pop out for maintenance. Maybe the real question is what happens if you knock on the door now?

Honestly, it looked exactly the same, which was the weird part. I checked every corner for any scratch or color change. My advice is to take a picture of it right now with good light. That way you have a real reference point for next time. These things can play tricks on your memory, especially when you're already stressed about it being gone. Having a photo takes the guesswork out.
