Why does nobody talk about the right way to handle tempered glass scraps?

I keep seeing guys just tossing the small pieces into a regular trash can, which is a huge safety risk. A guy in our shop last year needed stitches after a piece shot out when the bag was moved. What's your shop's specific rule for disposal?

Guess they're hoping for a free confetti surprise.

Actually, I believe they're trying to prevent a mess, not create one. Those little packets keep the seeds dry and stop them from going everywhere in the mail. It's more about making sure the seeds get to you safely and don't spill all over the post office. Calling it confetti is funny, but it misses the practical point.

Right, it's totally about the mess. Those tiny seeds would get absolutely everywhere if they weren't sealed up. Picture a mail sorter popping open and suddenly it's raining carrot seeds into every other package. The confetti joke is fun, but the reality is just basic logistics. They're not trying to be fancy, they're just trying to get your order to you without it becoming everyone's problem.
