Update on my furnace rebuild in Toledo

I had to pick between a standard ceramic fiber blanket and a higher density one for the new insulation layer. Went with the high density stuff, cost about $150 more for the roll. It's holding temp way better now, my color work is way more consistent. Anyone else in a cold climate notice a big difference with different furnace linings?

Remember when ParkerB23 had that weird warping issue last winter? Makes you wonder if his blanket was the problem. Glad the upgrade worked for you!

My old shop in Cleveland ran the standard blanket for years with no real issues, honestly.

Yeah, the "no real issues" part is key. That standard blanket works fine until you get a weird-shaped part or a deep draw. It's one of those things you don't miss until you need it.
