Unpopular opinion: The glass at the new museum in Austin felt kind of lifeless to me

I went to that big modern art museum that opened last month, and their whole glass sculpture wing just felt off, like everything was too perfect and cold. Maybe it's just me, but I think a piece should show some of the maker's hand, not look like it was made by a robot. Does anyone else feel like some studio glass is getting too polished and losing its soul?

I read that the museum's glass pieces were all made with computer controlled ovens that hold exact temperatures. When you take away the risk of a piece cracking from human error, you also lose that tension in the final work. It's like comparing a perfect digital recording to a vinyl record with a few pops, the flaws can add character. Maybe the problem isn't the polish, but the lack of any chance for a happy accident?

Totally get that. But sometimes the happy accident is just a broken piece of glass.
