My wife got me a subscription box for grilling rubs. I thought it was a total waste.
It was a monthly thing, $25 a box. I figured I could just buy my own spices. The first box came with a coffee rub. Tried it on some pork chops. Honestly, it was amazing. Completely changed the flavor. Anyone else get a gift they were wrong about?

They sent me a garlic rosemary blend last month I never would have grabbed off a shelf. Used it on chicken thighs and now I'm kinda hoping they keep sending stuff I'd normally skip.

Boxes like that are just lazy gift giving. You don't want someone else deciding what spices you like. Save the $25 and buy a big jar of whatever you actually use.
