Bought my dad a $75 'smart' plant sensor that texts you when to water it... the thing died after a week and the app just says 'sensor offline' forever now.

Used to think those things were neat, but that's exactly why I stick with the finger-in-the-dirt test now.

Did it at least send a goodbye text?
