Pro tip from a ranger about finding agates

A park ranger in Oregon told me to search right after a rain, and I found three small carnelians in 20 minutes. What's the best piece of advice you've gotten for a specific hunt?

My buddy had a guy tell him to look for morels near old apple orchards after a warm spring rain. He went out and found like two pounds, it was crazy.

Right after a rain is the real trick. A guy told me to look for mushrooms at the base of dead trees after a good soak, and I filled a basket. That kind of specific tip is gold.

That tip works for some spots but not all. Mushrooms need more than just water, they want the right soil and weather too. You can still come back empty even after a perfect rain.
