Stopped using a level after watching a old framer at the Habitat build site in Des Moines
Guy named Gene just eyeballed a whole wall section and it was dead on, said if you trust your eye more than a bubble you'll work twice as fast. Has anyone else tried skipping the level on simpler stuff?

There's something bigger at play here than just framing walls. You see the same kind of thing with guitar players who've been doing it for decades - they don't stare at the frets, they just know where to put their fingers. Same with good cooks who toss seasoning in without measuring. It's like your brain builds a shortcut after you've done something a thousand times. The real trick is knowing when those shortcuts work and when they'll mess you up. That old framer probably still levels the really important stuff like doors and windows, right?

Hit the nail on the head there, honestly.
