My new smartwatch battery died in under 8 hours

I got a new fitness tracker last Tuesday and was excited to test it. I charged it fully overnight and wore it to work the next day. By 3 PM, it was completely dead, which was a huge letdown. The box said the battery should last 5 days with normal use. I've tried resetting it and turning off all the extra features, but it still won't hold a charge. Has anyone else had a watch that just wouldn't last like this?

Maybe it's just a dud unit. Five days always seemed like a stretch for those things anyway.

Yeah, five days is definitely the best case scenario with perfect conditions. In my experience, you're lucky to get three solid days out of most of them before you need a top-up. The battery tech just isn't there yet for that kind of claim to be reliable.
