Spent 2 hours fixing a bad lacquer job and it was all my fault

Last week I sprayed a table with a new can of lacquer and it came out all cloudy and rough. I was so mad thinking the can was bad but then I realized I forgot to stir it before spraying. It cost me like $15 in materials and 2 hours of sanding it back down. Has anyone else done something dumb like that and felt like a total rookie after years in the game?

Felt like a pro til I sprayed a whole cabinet with the nozzle facing backwards.

You definitely had to learn that one the hard way, just like the rest of us. That "felt like a pro until I sprayed a whole cabinet" part really hits home. It's funny how we all make the same little mistakes over and over, like forgetting to check which way the nozzle is pointing before squeezing. Reminds me of how we get too confident after doing something a few times, then reality smacks us right in the patience. Life's full of those little moments where you feel like you've got it all figured out, and then you don't.
