Local shops pushing polyurethane over everything

I think using poly on every piece is a bad idea. It takes away the natural feel of the wood. Saw a nice cherry table get coated and now it just looks fake.

Totally agree, saw a maple dresser get that thick plastic coat and it just killed the grain. Such a shame.

Danish oil really brought the grain back on my oak table. Just needs a few thin coats rubbed in.

Love that natural look. Polyurethane just makes wood feel fake and dead. Danish oil is the way to go.
