My grocery receipt had a weird line item that made me look up the price of a single egg
I bought a dozen eggs for $2.40, but the receipt printed each one as costing 20 cents. That got me thinking, so I checked the bulk bin for loose lentils and they were literally 3 cents per ounce. Anyone else get weirdly into the per-unit cost of tiny things now?

Honestly that kind of math just makes my head hurt. I grab what I need and try not to overthink the receipt, life's too short for penny counting.

It's a good way to stay sane, especially with how prices jump around now. That mental energy is better spent on things you actually enjoy. The small stuff really does add up to a lot of stress over time.

Remember when gas stations listed the price per gallon with that extra 9/10 of a cent at the end? Got obsessed with how that worked as a kid, made my dad explain how they basically round it up. Felt like a tiny scam every single time.
