I just threw away $15 worth of wilted herbs from the grocery store
I bought a big plastic clamshell of fresh basil and cilantro last Friday, planning to make a big batch of pesto and some salsa. I stuck it in the fridge and totally forgot about it. Went to grab it yesterday and it was all slimy and brown. That was a full $15 down the drain. I should have just bought a small amount from the bulk bins, or even better, stuck the stems in a glass of water on the counter. Has anyone found a good way to keep fresh herbs from going bad so fast?

Stuck it in the fridge and totally forgot about it" is the story of my life with fresh herbs. My crisper drawer is basically a salad graveyard.

That "salad graveyard" line is too real, @faithgonzalez. I've started just putting herbs in a glass of water on the counter, like flowers. They last way longer and you actually see them. The fridge is where good food intentions go to die, especially that crisper drawer. It's like a black hole for anything green. I'm convinced the cold air makes us forget stuff exists the second we close the door.
