debate with my roommate about frozen veggies vs fresh
So my roommate swears fresh veggies are always better and cheaper. I told her a bag of frozen broccoli is $1.50 at Aldi and lasts weeks. She hit back with her $2 head of fresh broccoli that she uses in 2 days. But I did the math - frozen spinach is $1.20 per pound and fresh is $3.50 for a bag that wilts in 3 days. She said fresh has more nutrients, but I read freezing locks them in right after harvest. Which side do you guys lean on for saving money and eating well? Any frozen veggie tricks that changed your mind?

Picking the frozen bag that's already chopped and ready to go saves me from buying a whole head of broccoli only to watch half of it turn yellow in the fridge... Another angle nobody's brought up is that frozen veggies are way better for meal prepping because you can just toss a handful into anything without worrying about cutting or waste. Plus with fresh stuff, you're paying for the water weight and stems and sometimes even the soil still stuck in there, which feels like a rip-off when you think about it. My trick is to roast frozen broccoli straight from the bag with some oil and garlic powder at 425 for like 20 minutes, it gets crispy and tastes just as good as fresh without the prep work.
