Talking to a new guy about green sand made me miss the old ways

He asked why we still use bentonite when there are newer binders, and I realized I can't even remember the last time I saw a muller in person. Anyone else feel like some of the craft is getting lost with all the pre-mixed stuff?

Ugh, tell me about it... I had to show a kid how to temper by hand last month, felt like I was teaching history. The pre-mixed stuff just doesn't give you the same feel for the sand.
