Hit 500 continuous furnace pours without a single bad casting

I've been running the same induction furnace for 3 years now, and I just passed 500 pours in a row where every piece came out clean. No slag inclusions, no gas porosity, no shrinkage voids. What's the longest streak of good castings you've seen someone hold?

The temp control is the part most people skip on the tight window like @williams90 mentioned. 10 degrees is tight but doable if you calibrate your thermocouples weekly and log every pour with a timestamp. Ive seen guys get cocky after 100 good pours then rush and ruin the streak with a cold ladle. Skimming twice is mandatory too especially if you let the melt sit for more than a minute between heats.

Read an interview with a shop foreman who hit 800 pours in aerospace work by religiously preheating their ladles and skimming twice before each pour. He said the real trick was keeping the melt temp within a 10 degree window the whole time to avoid gas issues. That kind of streak takes crazy discipline with your furnace logs and never skipping steps even when you're in a rush.
