Just learned a forgotten 80s show had a pilot filmed in my hometown
I was looking up an old show called 'The Last Resort' from 1988. It was about a family running a hotel, and it only lasted a few episodes. I found a fan site that said the original pilot was filmed in Branson, Missouri, which is where I grew up. I had no idea any TV was shot there back then. It made me want to see if any locals remember it being filmed. Has anyone else found a weird link like that to a forgotten show?

Ever hear about that time my friend's dad swore he saw a film crew at the old diner? Turns out it was for a one-off TV movie that never even aired, and he was an extra in the background for like two seconds. He only found out years later when some guy posted a clip online. Makes you wonder how many of those little shoots happened without anyone noticing, right?

That's the kind of story that makes you side-eye every random person with a camera. Your whole life could be a forgotten DVD extra and you'd never even know.

Just about every small town has at least one story like that, and it makes me think half the weird stuff we see on the street is probably connected to some production nobody remembers. Your friend's dad being an extra for a couple seconds in a lost TV movie is basically a right of passage for anyone living near a mid-sized city, where crews come and go without much fanfare. Once you start paying attention, you realize these little shoots are happening all the time, just blending into the background.
