I found a VHS tape of a show called 'The Adventures of Brisco County Jr.' at a garage sale in Omaha

The guy running the sale saw me pick it up and said, 'My dad worked on that set, said Bruce Campbell did his own stunts on a horse named Buck.' He told me about a scene where Brisco had to lasso a moving train from horseback, which they shot in one take. I watched the tape later and that exact scene is just as wild as he described. Anyone else remember this weird western with sci-fi stuff mixed in?

That lasso scene is a fun story, but I have to wonder if the horse's name was really Buck. Bruce Campbell's autobiography doesn't mention a specific horse for his stunts, just that he did a lot of riding. The show was a blast, but maybe some garage sale tales get polished over the years.

Where did you hear the horse was named Buck? I've read that book too, and you're right, Bruce doesn't name the horse. The "Buck" detail seems to come from fan sites and old convention stories, not the official record. It's a great example of how a small, fun detail can become "fact" after being repeated for thirty years. The real story is just that a stunt horse didn't like the lasso, which is funny enough on its own.
