Found a box of VHS tapes at a garage sale in Tacoma with a show I haven't thought about in 20 years

I was picking through a garage sale last weekend and found a whole box of old, unlabeled tapes for a dollar. Took a chance, popped one in my old VCR, and it was an episode of 'The Adventures of Pete & Pete' from like 1994. Completely forgot that show existed. My favorite part was always the opening with Little Pete's tattoo and that weird theme song. It got me thinking about all those quirky 90s Nickelodeon shows that just vanished. Does anyone else have a memory of a specific scene from a show that time forgot?

Finding those tapes must have been a trip. It reminds me of the time I dug out my old Talkboy from the attic and the batteries had leaked all over it. Total loss.

Actually, that show was on until 1997. I loved the episode where they were trying to beat the record for the longest continuous haircut.

Oh man, that is such a deep cut memory you just unlocked! I totally forgot about that episode, but you're right, the haircut thing was hilarious. What I always thought was wild though, is how that show kinda predicted all this reality TV stuff we have now with the zany challenges and competitions. Like they were doing weird record attempts way before anyone else made it a whole genre. It's funny how something that seemed so silly at the time actually ended up being ahead of its curve in a way nobody really talks about.
