Found a box of old VHS tapes in a thrift store in Tacoma, and one show changed my mind

I was in a little thrift shop on 6th Avenue last weekend and found a whole box of recorded tapes. One was labeled 'The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr.' from 1993. I always heard it was a weird, failed western, but I gave it a shot. The pilot had this wild mix of cowboys and sci-fi that actually worked, and Bruce Campbell was perfect. Does anyone else remember this show or have a favorite forgotten gem they found by accident?

Brisco County was fun, but it's not exactly a hidden masterpiece. The whole cowboy sci-fi thing was pretty silly even back then.

Oh totally, it was pure silly fun and knew it. The show leaned into the goofiness hard with stuff like that orb giving people weird future powers. It worked because it never tried to be serious sci-fi, just a comedy with horses and ray guns.

Hidden masterpiece" is a pretty high bar for a show about a time traveling cowboy. It was just good dumb fun that knew exactly what it was. That's why it worked.
