Warning: that "perfect" level subfloor from last Thursday nearly cost me a whole job
I had this one day last week where everything was going smooth. Like scary smooth. The subfloor was dead level, the glue was tacking up perfect, whole nine yards. Then around 3pm I noticed the planks I laid that morning were already starting to crown in the middle of the room. Turns out the humidity spiked 15% that afternoon (we had a sudden storm roll in) and the wood expanded way more than I planned for. I forgot to leave enough expansion gap near the sliding door. Had to pull up 40 feet of flooring and redo the gap with spacers. Has anyone else had a perfect morning turn into a total nightmare because of weather changes half way through?

Same thing happened to me last spring. Had a perfect day going and then a surprise thunderstorm rolled in, warped half the boards before I even noticed.
