Rant: People still think you can just slap down vinyl plank over ANY old floor
I saw a DIY video where they put it right over a 30-year-old sheet vinyl floor with major dips, and the clicks failed in a month. How do you guys handle explaining subfloor prep to homeowners who just want it done cheap?

That video is a perfect example of a bad install.

Honestly it's worse than just a bad install, it's a masterclass in what not to do. The whole thing looks rushed and careless, like they didn't even own a level. You can bet that mess will start failing in a year, maybe less. It's gonna cost the owner way more to fix it than if they'd paid for a proper job the first time. Stuff like this makes everyone in the trade look bad.

You said it. That video is a total mess. It's not just a little off, it's wrong in so many ways. You can see the gaps and the uneven lines from a mile away. How does someone even let that leave the job site? It's a shame because it gives good installs a bad name.
