Looking back at my first laminate jobs from 15 years ago
I was cutting everything with a jigsaw, thinking it was fine. A guy I worked with in Tacoma finally asked me why I was making it so hard on myself and showed me his pull saw. How do you handle tricky cuts on a floating floor now?

My oscillating tool is my new best friend.

Remember jigsawing laminate and thinking it was okay, what were we even doing? @noah_webb has the right idea with an oscillating tool for those tight spots now. Honestly, sometimes the right tool just makes you feel like you discovered fire.

Totally get what you're saying. I used to fight with a utility knife and a straight edge for every single cut, swearing it was the only way. Then I saw a post from hugo_nelson about using a jigsaw for laminate and it blew my mind, even if the finish was rough. That was the first crack in my stubbornness. Now I finally bought an oscillating tool for baseboard and it's a complete game changer, no more hacked up corners. The right tool doesn't just make the job easier, it makes the result actually look good.
