Just realized I was using the wrong trowel for LVP for months
I was on a job in a Phoenix condo last month and the planks kept clicking apart. The homeowner's son, who does handyman work, asked if my trowel was a quarter-inch. It was a half-inch, which I now know can cause gaps with that locking system. What's your go-to trowel size for most vinyl plank these days?

A half-inch trowel for months? That's wild.

People make a big deal out of the smallest things. It's just a tool for spreading glue. Seen folks use a putty knife for weeks when their trowel broke. As long as the tile sticks, who really cares what got it there?

My buddy used a butter knife for a whole backsplash job once. Said the notches were close enough and he was already late for his kid's game. Every tile is still up five years later.
