Glued my helper's tape measure to the subfloor last Tuesday

I was doing a glue-down vinyl plank job in a condo in Austin and my apprentice set his tape measure right in a fresh puddle of adhesive. Took us 10 minutes with a heat gun to pry it loose without wrecking the plank. Anyone else had a tool get sacrificed to the glue gods?

Ten minutes with a heat gun just for a tape measure? That's wild, I would have just let it become part of the floor at that point.

charles919 the forgotten tape measure in the floor is basically a rite of passage for anyone who's ever done a project at home. It's wild how we'll spend more time trying to save a $5 tool than it would take to just buy a new one. That's just how it goes with DIY stuff, you get attached to the dumbest things.
