My big ceramic flower pot disaster at the flea market

I was at the Kane County Flea Market in Illinois last month and found this gorgeous huge blue ceramic pot for $15. I picked it up to inspect the bottom and the whole thing cracked right in my hands, sending chunks all over the pavement. The seller just stared at me and said "well, I guess that one's yours now." I ended up paying her $5 for it anyway since I broke it, but I was so embarrassed. Now I always tap on ceramics with my knuckle before I touch them to check for hairline cracks. Has anyone else had a clumsy moment like this that cost you?

Girl you paid $5 for a broken pot and you're still thinking about it months later? I would have laughed, handed her a buck if I felt guilty, and moved on with my life. Ceramic pots crack from temp changes and bad glazes all the time, that thing was probably a ticking time bomb before you even touched it. Honestly the seller probably knew it was busted and was just waiting for someone to accidentally finish the job so she didn't have to haul it back to her car.
