Grabbed a weird glass jar at a thrift store, and it sparked a worm farm frenzy
I was at a community sale and spotted this huge glass jar with a lid for cheap. It looked so odd, like it belonged in a mad scientist's lab, but I bought it anyway. Now I use it for worm composting, which cuts down my kitchen waste. My friends think I'm nuts, but seeing those worms work is weirdly fun. Thrifting can lead to some wild ways to help the planet.

Yeah the "weirdly fun" part is so real. I started with a bucket on my balcony and now I'm checking on the worms like they're my weird little roommates. It's crazy how fast they shred veggie scraps into dirt. Plus my plants have never been happier with that free fertilizer. Total win-win for the trash can and the garden.

Have you read about how worm poop helping plants fight off sickness? I saw a blog post that said the tiny organisms in it make plant roots stronger. That might be why your plants are doing so well with that homemade fertilizer. I've been wanting to try a small setup, but I worry about fruit flies. What do you do to keep pests away from your bucket?
