A shift in what shows up at the local swap meet
Three years ago at the Alameda Point Antiques Fair, you could find a lot of mid-century furniture and old tools. Last month at the same spot, I saw maybe five different booths selling nothing but old video game consoles and cartridges. It felt like a whole new section of the market had opened up. Has anyone else noticed this kind of change in what's for sale?

The Rose Bowl flea market in Pasadena is the same way. Last time I went, a whole row was just vintage band t-shirts and old skateboard decks. The stuff people collect for nostalgia is totally different now. It makes sense, the people with money to spend are remembering their 90s childhoods, not their mom's Danish teak furniture.
