Tried cable ties vs velcro wraps on my desk rats nest - velcro won by a mile

Spent two hours last Sunday with zip ties cinching everything down tight and neat. Looked great for about a day. Then I needed to swap out a USB cable and had to cut three ties to get it free. Grabbed a roll of velcro wraps from the hardware store for 8 bucks. Re-did the whole thing in 45 minutes. Now I can change any cable in 10 seconds. Why do people still use zip ties on desks?

Velcro just makes way more sense for stuff you actually touch.

Three out of five times I've tried Velcro on everyday items it lost its stickiness way too fast, especially on bags and wallets. I get the appeal for quick access but @perry.karen I've had better luck with zippers or magnets for stuff I actually handle a lot.
